Taewook Kang

About Me

I am an incoming M.S. student in Artificial Intelligence at Seoul National University in Seoul, Republic of Korea, advised by Prof. Jonghyun Choi. I will receive my B.S. in Computer Science from Hanyang University in August 2025. Currently, I am working as a research intern at SNU Machine Perception and Reasoning Lab, Seoul National University.

My ultimate goal is to research and develop generalist embodied agents—such as autonomous robots—that can perceive, reason, and interact effectively with the physical world. To this end, my primary research interests are:

• Embodied AI: Developing agents that efficiently perceive their surroundings and achieve their goals through rapid adaptation, with a focus on real-world deployment.
• Open-ended Generalist Agents: Designing agents that autonomously explore and employ diverse strategies to accomplish tasks across varied environments.
• Robotics: Enabling physical agents to plan and execute robust manipulation and locomotion actions that reliably accomplish task objectives.

• [May 2025] Started a research internship at SNU Machine Perception and Reasoning Lab, Seoul National University.
• [May 2025] Our paper on a real-time anomaly detection method for robots was accepted to Engineering Applications of Artificial Intelligence.
• [Jan 2025] Joined Machine Learning and Mind Lab at KAIST as a research intern.
• [Nov 2024] Our paper on a frame sampling method for embodied question answering was accepted to KSC 2024.
